IRPF 2024 Updates: What You Need to Know Before Filing Your Tax Return.

The 2024 Income Tax campaign comes with important changes you should be aware of. Here’s a summary of the key points:

1. Payment via Bizum
It is now possible to pay your income tax return through Bizum.

2. Exempt Aid for DANA
Donations made by companies to workers affected by DANA will be exempt from taxation.

3. Sales Through Online Platforms
If you have sold items through digital platforms (such as Wallapop, Vinted, eBay, etc.), you onlyneed to declare it if:
You earned over €2,000 annually, or
You carried out more than 30 transac tions in the year.
If you’re below those limits, it’s not taxable.

4. Refunds for Former Mutual Insurance Contributions
If you previously contributed to a labor mutual insurance and couldn’t deduct it from your income
tax, you can now request a refund for the excess paid. This long-awaited measure could mean a
significant reimbursement for many retirees.

5. New Thresholds for Filing
With a single payer: you must file if you earned more than €22,000.
With two or more payers: you must file if your total income exceeds €15,876 annually, provided other IRPF requirements are met.

6. Unemployment Benefits
If you only received unemployment benefits during the year, you are not required to file a tax return.

7. Minimum Vital Income (Ingreso Mínimo Vital)
Recipients of the Minimum Vital Income (IMV) are required to file a tax return, even if their income is exempt from taxation.
